FOOD PACKAGING
One of the main reasons hot-melt adhesives are so popular among food packaging applications is because they are free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can cause unpleasant odours and affect food quality. A popular choice in AGF packaging, hot-melt adhesives offer resistance in hot climates and can withstand high and low temperatures. There are also special freezer-resistant hotmelts for packaging that is stored in the freezer.
ALL KINDS OF CONSUMER PACKAGING
Hotmelt is also used for many other types of packaging, from toys and household items to medical equipment. Hotmelts provide a strong bond between paper, cardboard, plastic and other materials, making them a good choice for all kinds of consumer packaging.
SEALING BOXES
One of the most well-known applications for industrial hotmelts is the sealing of boxes. By now, the packaging industry has come to rely on hot melts to effectively seal boxes and cartons. An increasingly common application is the use for pallet sealing and stabilisation.
Hotmelts seal all kinds of packaging, from small detailed boxes to large pallets and crates. It also has the resistance to perform well in different temperatures, making it very suitable for shipping and storage.
ENVELOPES AND BAGS PRODUCTION
Hotmelts are also used in the production of envelopes, bags and corrugated board, in addition to the many cold glue applications. Hotmelts are particularly good on waterproof materials, on which cold glue usually cannot dry.
